The Washington Township Police Department is dedicated to being a leader among police departments by hiring talented and professional officers and civilian staff, demonstrating the highest standards of performance, best practices in policing, and accountability, and reflecting the values of the supportive township it serves. The Police Department is committed to professional excellence in providing public safety services for the township in the form of police patrol, criminal investigations, crime prevention, and community relations. The Township Police are committed 24/7 to protecting the rights of all persons, serving the community and promoting a safe and secure environment, free from crime and the fear of crime. The current police force is composed of the Chief of Police James Krome and 11 officers (see Staff) along with 1 administrative clerk. The Board of Supervisors established and founded the department in 1964 with the hiring of one chief police officer. Welcome to Washington Township Police Department.
